First to open

Dupras’ Evergreen Acres in Mays Landing opens on Saturday 24 October — the earliest farm anywhere on this site. Then White Dog Farms in Hammonton on 7 November and Anne Ellen in Manalapan, open every day, from 13 November. Most of the rest open on the Friday after Thanksgiving, 27 November.

Open on Thanksgiving

Spruce Goose in Chesterfield opens on Thanksgiving Day itself, 9am to 2pm — the only New Jersey farm we have found that does. Hidden Pond and Exley’s both say plainly that they are closed that day.

Six species to cut, saws provided, balled-and-burlapped trees if you want to plant it afterwards — and dogs are welcome, which the farm puts at the top of its own home page.

  • Established 1982

Practical

  • Dogsyes — “Dogs Welcome!”
  • Paymentcash, cheque or credit card

Worth knowingThe farm published its 2026 season calendar on 29 October, and the shape of it is simple: every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 27 November to 20 December, 8am to 4:30pm, and nothing in between. It also grows balled-and-burlapped trees, so if you want to plant the tree in January rather than put it out, this is one of very few farms on this page that can sell you one.

Before you set offThere are no lights on the farm. In its own words: “please plan to arrive before 4:00pm so that you have enough time and ample daylight to pick out your perfect tree before the farm closes at 4:30pm.” That makes the last useful half-hour earlier than the closing time suggests, especially in the third week of December when it is dark by half four. No prices are published anywhere on the site.

Am-Jac Tree Farm

Augusta, NJ · Sussex County

Five acres on top of a hill, planted by hand in 1981 and selling trees since 1987, with one price for every tree on the farm: $70 with the tax in it, whatever the species and whatever the size. Mostly Norway spruce, some blue spruce and a few concolor fir, all of them under nine feet. Saws provided, a baler on request, and they will cut it for you if you ask. Dogs welcome. Cash only.

  • Porta-loo on site

Practical

  • Dogsyes — on a lead, and clean up after them
  • Paymentcash only — there is an ATM a short drive away
  • Restroomsa portable toilet, which the farm says is kept very clean

Worth knowing$70 for any tree, any size is the cheapest tall tree in New Jersey by a distance, and one of only four flat prices we hold anywhere: Brown’s in York County is $84, Gehman’s in Lancaster $90 and Old Stone in Chester $100. Tree wrap and twine are included. The trees top out under nine feet, so this is the farm for a normal room rather than a stairwell — but at eight feet nothing else we list comes close. There is a resident dog called Stout who will greet you whether or not you were expecting it.

Before you set offThey cannot tie the tree to your car. The farm says so plainly and gives insurance as the reason, so bring your own rope or straps and know how you are going to do it — our getting it home guide covers it. It is also cash only, and the turning is easy to miss: in the farm’s own words, “It looks like you are pulling into a house which you are, but don’t worry, at the top of the driveway is our farm.” No 2026 dates have been posted, so ring 973-948-4222 or check their Facebook before you drive out.

Evergreen Valley Christmas Tree Farm

Washington, NJ · Warren County

One of the widest choices in the state, all choose-and-cut: blue spruce, Canaan, concolor, Douglas and Fraser fir, Norway spruce, white pine and Scotch pine, priced by species rather than by height — the farm’s own illustration is that a 3 ft tree costs the same as a 10 ft one. Hayrides, farm saws and carts, and ornaments from local makers. This is its eighteenth season.

  • 2026 datesnot publisheda rule rather than a date — see below
  • WeekendsSat–Sun, 9am–4pmclosed Mon & Tue
  • WeekdaysWed–Fri, 12pm–4pmchanged for this season
  • TallestWhite pine to 14 ftCanaan fir 9–11 ft

  • Douglas fir
  • Fraser fir
  • Norway spruce
  • Scotch pine
  • White pine
  • Hayrides
  • Saws and carts
  • One price per species
  • White pine to 14 ft

Practical

  • Dogsno dogs except trained service dogs
  • Paymentcash or card, no cheques

Worth knowingPrices here run by species, not size, which is unusual and worth planning around: the farm says a 3 ft tree costs the same as a 10 ft one, so if you have the ceiling for it, the tall end of a species is where the value is. White pine goes to about 14 ft and the Canaan fir field runs 9 to 11 ft. New Jersey sales tax of 6.625% goes on at the register.

Before you set offThe weekday hours have changed. The farm said on 29 October that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday now run 12pm to 4pm rather than 9am to 4pm; Saturday and Sunday stay at 9am to 4pm. Its own website still shows the old 9am start, so do not plan a Wednesday morning on the strength of that page. The farm has also bought in more carts and saws and asks that anyone able to cut their own tree does so — staff will still help if you need it, but midweek staffing is thin. On dates it gives a rule rather than a day: Black Friday until 23 December. Black Friday is 27 November in 2026, but that is our arithmetic from the farm’s rule, not a date the farm has posted.

Bear Swamp Farm

West Milford, NJ · Passaic County

Nine acres worked by the same family for over sixty years, organic, and open for three days a year — the shortest season of any farm on this site. One flat price for every tree in the fields, hand saws only, and a Christmas shop in three bays of an eighty-year-old log barn with a wood stove and free hot chocolate.

  • 2026 datesnot publisheda rule, not a date — see below
  • Open daysThreeFriday, Saturday and Sunday only
  • Hours9am–3pmthe three days it is open
  • Any field tree$70tax included — 2025 list
  • Pre-cut Fraser fir$80 to $2007–11 ft, by height; grown on other farms
  • TaggingNot allowedthe farm cannot guarantee the tree will still be there

What’s there

  • White pine
  • Norway spruce
  • Balsam fir
  • Concolor fir
  • Pre-cut Fraser fir
  • Organic
  • One price for any field tree
  • Hand saws only
  • No tagging
  • Free hot chocolate
  • Wood stove in the log barn
  • On-site ATM
  • Hand-made wreaths and garland
  • Dogs on a leash

Practical

  • Dogsyes — every dog must be on a leash
  • Paymentno credit cards, but there is an ATM on site

Worth knowingThe farm writes a characteristic for each species it grows, and it is the clearest trade-off table we have found anywhere: white pine holds its needles longer than anything else in their fields but its branches are too soft for heavy ornaments; Norway spruce holds heavy ornaments well but its needle retention is only fair; balsam fir has the sweet aroma, medium-strength branches and very good retention; concolor fir has long soft needles with a blue tinge and very good retention. The flat $70 means the choice is about the tree, not the price. Note the organic claim covers the farm’s own fields — the pre-cut Frasers are bought in.

Before you set offThree days, and it sells out. The farm opens on the Friday immediately following Thanksgiving and stays open only that Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 3pm. In 2026 that arithmetic gives 27, 28 and 29 November, but the farm has not posted this year’s dates — its page still reads “closed (sold out!) for the 2025 season”, so the date above is ours, not theirs. Finding it matters too: from the “Welcome to West Milford” sign at the top of the mountain it is the fifth driveway on your left, a dirt road between two stone walls, and you bear right at the first fork. No email address anywhere, so questions mean ringing.

Indian Ridge Farms

Wantage, NJ · Sussex County

Closed for the 2026 season while the fields rest. Eight varieties on a 96-acre preserved farm in Sussex County, including grand fir, which almost nothing else in New Jersey grows. Founded around 1960 by Robert and Margaret Smith, who found Native American artifacts while clearing the ridge and named the farm for them; it moved to Wantage in 2013.

Worth knowingGrand fir is the reason to come here when they reopen. It is a soft, glossy, strongly citrus-scented fir, common in the Pacific north-west and rare on the east coast, and this is the only farm on this page that lists it. Worth remembering for next year.

Before you set offDo not drive out this year — the farm is closed for the 2026 season. Robert Brandon Smith told us by email on 30 October: “Indian Ridge Farms will NOT open for cut your own Christmas Trees this season. Growing quality trees takes time and our fields need a resting and growing season to provide beautiful trees in the future.” Their own website has not caught up and still shows last year’s season, which is why this card is still here. We expect them back; we will say so when they tell us.

Perfect Christmas Tree Farm

Phillipsburg, NJ · Warren County

Over forty varieties — more than any other farm we list anywhere — and the only one on this page growing Nikko, Veitch, Sakhalin, Korean and cork bark fir alongside the usual Balsam, Fraser and Douglas. Trees from 6 to 16 ft, small ones in pots to plant afterwards, and a gift shop in the old kitchen of a stone farmhouse built around 1790.

Worth knowingThe exotic firs cost no more than the ordinary ones, which is the thing to know: the price is by height, so a Korean or cork bark fir at 8 ft is the same $89 as a Douglas. The farm also guarantees in writing that its trees hold their needles until the New Year, and sells small trees in pots that survive planting better than balled-and-burlapped ones because the root ball has not been cut.

Before you set offYou tie your own knot. The farm provides wagons, sharp hand saws, wrapping and two-ply sisal twine at no cost and will help lift the tree onto the car, but in its own words it “can no longer tie the tree to your car ourselves… You will need to secure the knot, as this is a requirement from our insurance company.” If you are not confident with a roof rack, bring someone who is. The dates above are last season’s; the 2026 season has not been posted.

Peterson Family Farm

Flemington, NJ · Hunterdon County

Family owned since 1955, and a farm you can visit most of the year — strawberries in spring, peaches in summer, apples and pumpkins in autumn, then choose-and-cut Christmas trees. Six species, free tree drilling for pin stands, and wreaths from 8 inches to four feet made on the farm through December.

  • 2026 datesnot published“Opening Day: Black Friday” — no year given
  • Hours9am–5pmFriday, Saturday and Sunday
  • SpeciesSixblue and Norway spruce; concolor, Fraser, Douglas and Canaan fir
  • DrillingFreefor Stand Straight pin stands; stands sold separately
  • TaggingAllowedcome early; the farm cannot be held responsible
  • Tree pricesnot published

What’s there

  • Colorado blue spruce
  • Norway spruce
  • Concolor fir
  • Fraser fir
  • Douglas fir
  • Canaan fir
  • Free tree drilling
  • Tagging allowed
  • Wreaths 8 in to 4 ft
  • White pine roping
  • Grave blankets and kissing balls
  • No dogs
  • Strawberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins in season

Practical

  • Dogsno — the farm’s insurance does not allow it
  • Paymentcash, cheque or credit card

Worth knowingThe farm’s own species notes are worth reading before you choose. It discourages cutting Norway spruce early in the season because its needle retention is only fair, and suggests tagging one and cutting it closer to Christmas instead. Concolor fir, which it has at 5 to 7 ft in the lower field, has excellent retention and a citrus scent. Blue spruce has the stiffest branches for heavy ornaments — and the farm’s tip for decorating it is to wear disposable surgical gloves.

Before you set offOrder the roping early. The hand-made white pine roping is the farm’s most popular item and it says plainly that it sells out fast; wreaths, roping and novelty orders go through Sherrie Peterson on 908-782-1682 rather than the main number. The opening day is given as a rule — the Friday after Thanksgiving — with no year attached, so there is no 2026 date here yet, and the farm asks you to ring before visiting for current tree availability and holiday hours.

Shale Hills Christmas Tree Farm

Sussex, NJ · Sussex County

Over fifty years of hand-sheared cut-your-own trees in the foothills of Sussex County, and a farm that is unusually direct about what it can and cannot do for you: it will wrap a small or medium tree but not a large dense one, it has limited staff, and it takes cash only.

  • 2026 datesnot publisheda rule: weekends and Black Friday after Thanksgiving
  • Hours10am–4pmweekends and Black Friday
  • Any tree$1202025, tax included
  • AgeOver 50 yearssame family

What’s there

  • Hand-sheared trees
  • Cut your own
  • One price for any tree
  • Cash only
  • Over 50 years
  • Sussex County foothills

Practical

  • Dogsnot stated
  • Paymentcash only — no credit or debit cards

Worth knowingThree pieces of practical advice from the farm itself, and they are better than most. Bring a pick-up truck if you have access to one — it makes loading far easier at any size. They will wrap small and medium trees but not large dense ones, so a big tree travels bare. And they have limited staff and do get busy, so bring enough help to move and load the tree yourself, especially a heavy one.

Before you set offCash only. The farm cannot take credit or debit cards at all, so come with notes. Its dates are a rule rather than a date — open weekends and Black Friday after Thanksgiving, 10am to 4pm — so there is no posted 2026 season here yet, though the farm’s Facebook page is active. It also says the best selection is early in the season.

Black Oak Farm

Asbury, NJ · Hunterdon County

Sixty-odd years of hand-trimmed trees in the Hunterdon hills, one flat price for every tree whatever its height, and more than a thousand to choose from. A small operation run by a family with a famously unserious website — and a genuinely serious page about what it can do for disabled visitors.

  • 1,200+ trees to 10 ft
  • Local Hunterdon honey
  • Hand-made beeswax candles

  • Hot dogs, cookies and muffins
  • Cards at weekends

Practical

  • Dogsyes — the farm keeps a page of its own about dogs, worth reading first
  • Paymentcards and Apple Pay at weekends, $10 minimum; cash only midweek

Worth knowingMidweek you bring your own muscle. The farm is open at weekends and takes weekday visits by appointment only, arranged with the owner’s father directly — and the family is blunt that he is 94 and cannot help load a tree, with no scheduled helpers midweek. It is also cash only during the week; cards and Apple Pay work at weekends with a $10 minimum, and there is an ATM at the QuickChek down near Route 78.

Before you set offIf you are disabled, ring first — and the farm will tell you the truth. It says plainly that it is not wheelchair friendly: there are hard flat surfaces to get around on, but most of the farm is unsuitable and you need to be able to walk with a cane or walker. The bathroom is on the flat but a wheelchair will not fit inside. What it will do is drive visitors with limited mobility round the fields in a four-wheel Mule — a bumpy ride, by appointment, arranged days in advance on 908-832-2392 — and it asks you to park wherever you need to without asking. It suggests Thanksgiving weekend or the weekend before Christmas; the first two weekends of December will not work.

Worth knowingNothing you cut here is a Fraser. The field trees are concolor fir, Norway spruce, white pine, blue spruce and Canaan fir, priced by the foot; the Fraser and noble firs are brought in pre-cut and hand picked for height. If a Fraser is what you want, you can have one, but you will not be cutting it yourself. They wrap the tree and tie it to your car either way.

Worth knowingCash or a cheque book. Most New Jersey farms on this page take cards; this one takes neither credit nor debit, so the price you plan for is the cash you need to bring. The two-step price is worth thinking about too: anything up to 9 ft is $85 and anything above it is $150, so the expensive decision is the one foot between 9 and 10.

Before you set offNo 2026 season has been posted. The farm’s site is still headed “Events 2025 Season” with a 2025 copyright, and its Facebook page has not posted since Christmas Eve 2025 — so the prices and dates above are last season’s. Giamarese Farm & Orchards

East Brunswick, NJ · Middlesex County

A family farm in East Brunswick since 1941, open from May to December, with one price — $99 — for any choose-and-cut tree from 6 ft to 20 ft. That is the tallest flat-price band on this site: a 20 ft tree costs what a 6 ft one does. Free admission, tagging allowed, and a farm market to call in at on the way.

  • Farm market
  • No Roundup Ready GMOs
  • No pets
  • Apples, pumpkins and sunflowers in season

Practical

  • Dogsno — no pets, for the safety of pets and small children
  • Paymentnot stated

Worth knowing$99 buys a twenty-foot tree. Every other farm on this page that prices by height charges more for a tall one; here the band runs from 6 ft all the way to 20 ft at a single price, which makes it far and away the cheapest place in New Jersey to cut a very large tree. The farm’s own species notes are good too: it recommends Colorado blue spruce for households with cats, because the sharp needles discourage climbing, and says concolor fir has a citrus aroma and excellent needle retention.

Before you set offStop at the farm market before heading out to the field, which is the farm’s own instruction, and arrive at least an hour and a half before closing. No pets at all, which is stricter than most. The season is given as a rule — Thanksgiving week to Christmas Eve — with no year attached, so there is no posted 2026 date here yet.

Worth knowingThree addresses, and the farm says not to trust your GPS. The retail lot and produce stand are at 118 Dey Road, the Dey Road cut-your-own at 260 Dey Road, and the Cranbury Neck Road cut-your-own at 120 Cranbury Neck Road — and pre-cut trees moved to the Cranbury Neck Road location in 2023. The farm asks you not to put its postal address into a satnav and to use the directions on its own site instead.

Before you set offNo pre-cut Fraser fir any more. In the farm’s own words: “Due to continued changes in the market, a decline in availability, and the quality of trees available, we will NO LONGER have FRASER Firs.” It will have limited quantities of Canaan and Douglas fir over 9 ft from its own fields instead. It also says it will not open the weekend before Thanksgiving — all locations open on Black Friday. Those notes are from the 2025 season page; no 2026 dates are up yet.

Worth knowingThe height is measured to the first whorl of branches, not to the tip. That is unusual and worth knowing before you choose: the leader above the top whorl does not count, so a tree the farm calls 7 ft will stand taller than 7 ft in your room once the leader is included. Measure your ceiling accordingly. The farm also sells bundles of loose spruce and fir branches, which is the cheap way to decorate a mantelpiece.

Before you set offNo 2026 season is posted. The dates above are last season’s — the Wreath & Gift Shop ran Saturdays and Sundays from 29 November to 14 December 2025. Midweek visits are possible but only by arrangement, on 609-234-2629. No prices are published for trees.

Kenlin Tree Farm

Edgewater Park, NJ · Burlington County

Seven species including balsam fir and Serbian spruce, trees from 5 to 20 ft, and a farm where every extra is free: the saw, the cart, the drilling, the netting, the twine and the loading. The fields are flat and the aisles wide enough for a wheelchair, which almost no farm anywhere says out loud.

  • Free netting and twine
  • Wheelchair-accessible fields
  • Porta Potty
  • Dogs on a leash

Practical

  • Dogsyes — leashed and well behaved; bring a bag
  • Paymentnot stated

Worth knowingThe fields are wheelchair accessible, and the farm says so plainly: flat ground, aisles wide enough, with the honest caveat that wheels may sink a bit if it has been raining or snowing. Everything else is free as well — bow saw, wheeled cart, moving the tree out of the field, netting, drilling the trunk for a pin stand and putting it on the car. Bring your own bow saw if you prefer; no power saws are allowed.

Before you set offThere is no street address. The farm does not have one, and says so: the entrance is on Delanco Road, north-east of the junction with Perkins Lane, marked by a white Kenlin Tree Farm sign, and there is a blinking light at that intersection. Searching “Kenlin Tree Farm” in Google Maps gets you close but you still need to come in from Delanco Road. The opening is a rule rather than a date — weekends after Thanksgiving — so no 2026 season is posted.

Worth knowingThree things are worth planning around. The opening weekend is tagging only and by reservation — the farm sells a limited number of field trees and takes bookings for them, so turning up on 21 November without one is not the trip you think it is. The pre-cuts arrive on Thanksgiving weekend and include Nordmann and noble fir, which almost nothing else we list anywhere sells. And the Thursday and Friday evenings from 3 December are new this season, 3pm to 7:30pm with the place lit by patio string lights — the only after-dark tree shopping on this page. The farm’s own notes on its four field species are useful too: blue spruce and Fraser for heavy or vintage ornaments, Norway spruce for the conical shape, Canaan fir if you want something close to a balsam.

Before you set offThe field trees sell out, and they sell out early. In the farm’s own words: “Our field trees are tagged and sold the week before Thanksgiving. They are always in great demand and sell out quickly.” That week is the reservation-only opening weekend, and if you miss it what is left is the pre-cuts brought in from Thanksgiving onward. The hours change three times across the season — 8:30am on the opening weekend, 9am over Thanksgiving, 8:30am again in December but closing at 4pm rather than 4:30pm — so check the row above for the weekend you are going. No prices are published anywhere on the site.

Worth knowingThe farm’s own needle-retention notes are the useful part: Canaan fir (pronounced Ka-naan) and Douglas fir are both rated very good, blue spruce good. Canaan has the balsam aroma and a layered branch structure; Douglas has been their most popular tree for years, soft to touch and fragrant when crushed; blue spruce has the stiffest branches for heavy ornaments. Take a farm map when you arrive — it shows which variety is planted where.

Before you set offYou do not cut the tree, and an untagged tree is not for sale. Every tree for sale carries a tag with a price and a location number: you tear off the bottom of the tag, bring the stub to the office, and the farm cuts it either that day or on a pickup date you choose, baling it just before. Trees without tags are held back to keep next year’s selection good. No credit cards. The farm is halfway between Philadelphia and Atlantic City, just off Exit 28 of the Atlantic City Expressway.

Worth knowingThe farm’s own comparison of its three species is short and useful: Douglas fir has the shortest needles, white fir — concolor — has a medium needle and a distinct citrus smell, and white pine has the longest and softest needle of the three. All three, it says, hold their needles for a long period after being cut. You can also have a tree dug rather than cut, for an extra fee, or dig it yourself for nothing — which is how to get a tree you can plant afterwards.

Before you set offNo 2026 dates. The hours page is headed “2025 hours of operation” and lists that season day by day, so the pattern above is the durable part rather than this year’s calendar: Fridays 1pm to 4pm, Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 4pm, and other days by appointment on 609-628-2758. The farm publishes no email address, so that number is the only way to ask. It supports Trees for Troops.

New Jersey Christmas tree farm questions

When do Christmas tree farms open in New Jersey?

Earlier than you might think. Dupras' Evergreen Acres in Mays Landing opens on Saturday 24 October 2026, White Dog Farms in Hammonton on 7 November, and Anne Ellen in Manalapan on 13 November, open every day from then. Three more open on Saturday 21 November — The Evergreen Farm in Lebanon, Hidden Pond in Mendham and Littleworth in Petersburg — and most of the rest on Friday 27 November, the day after Thanksgiving, including Glenview Farm in Blairstown and Foster's Holly Ridge in Hammonton. Seventeen farms on this page have not posted a 2026 date at all yet; their cards say what each one does publish.

Where can I cut my own Christmas tree in North Jersey?

Fifteen farms, six of them with 2026 dates: The Evergreen Farm in Lebanon and Hidden Pond in Mendham from 21 November, and Lauric Farms in Phillipsburg, Kingfisher Farm in Hardwick, Charlie Brown's in Milford and Glenview Farm in Blairstown from 27 November. Warren County has the most farms, around Blairstown, Belvidere and Washington. Two of the nine still to post are worth planning around anyway: Bear Swamp in West Milford opens for only three days a year, and Indian Ridge in Wantage says it sells out of what it is willing to let go within the first two days.

Are there Christmas tree farms in South Jersey?

Yes, and they open earliest. Dupras' Evergreen Acres in Mays Landing from 24 October, White Dog Farms in Hammonton from 7 November, Littleworth in Petersburg from 21 November, and Exley's at Sewell and Monroeville and Foster's Holly Ridge in Hammonton from 27 November, with early tagging at Sewell from 14 November. South Jersey farms grow mostly Douglas fir and spruce. Two of them do the cutting for you rather than handing you a saw: Holly Ridge, where an untagged tree is not for sale at all, and Eisele's in Petersburg, which will also dig a tree up so you can plant it afterwards.

How much does a Christmas tree cost in New Jersey?

The clearest 2026 price is Lauric Farms in Phillipsburg: $80 for any tree. After that it depends entirely on how a farm charges. Seven sell every tree at one price whatever its height, and the spread between them is wide: Belly Acres in Franklinville $60, Bear Swamp in West Milford $70 with the tax in it, Charlie Brown's in Milford $85, Black Oak in Asbury $90, Giamarese in East Brunswick $99, Shale Hills in Sussex $120 — and the heights those cover vary enormously. Giamarese's $99 buys anything from 6 ft to 20 ft, which is the only published price on this page for a tree that tall; Black Oak's $90 covers a 15 ft tree. Others price by height: Perfect Christmas Tree Farm in Phillipsburg runs $89 up to 9 ft and then $120 to $250 to 16 ft, Barclay's in Cranbury is $85 up to 9 ft and $150 above it, Simonson's $65 to $110, and Dupras' prices each tree individually at roughly $45 to $120. The Evergreen Farm charges $12 a foot, Wyckoff's and McLaughlin about $16 and $15. Only Lauric's figure carries a 2026 heading; the rest are last season's, and the cards say so. Around half the farms on this page publish no price at all.

Can I bring my dog to a New Jersey Christmas tree farm?

At about half of them, and more farms say so plainly here than in any other state we cover. Leashed dogs are welcome at The Evergreen Farm, Hidden Pond, Charlie Brown's, Anne Ellen (on the farm, not in The Village), Exley's, Am-Jac, McLaughlin, Bear Swamp, Kenlin, Simonson's and Black Oak. Glenview Farm in Blairstown puts Dogs Welcome! at the top of its own home page. Kenlin asks you to bring a bag, and Bear Swamp makes the leash a rule rather than a request. Saying no are Lauric Farms, Spruce Goose, Dupras', Wyckoff's, Evergreen Valley, Indian Ridge in Wantage, Giamarese in East Brunswick — which bars pets for the safety of small children — and Peterson in Flemington, whose insurance does not allow it. Check the card before you go.

Which New Jersey Christmas tree farm is open every day?

Hidden Pond in Mendham, 8am to 5pm every day from 21 November except Thanksgiving, and Anne Ellen in Manalapan, whose fields are open 9am to 4pm daily from 13 November. Two more keep a long week without being open every day: Giamarese in East Brunswick runs Tuesday to Sunday and Keris in Allentown Wednesday to Sunday. Most other farms open only Friday to Sunday or at weekends, and Bear Swamp in West Milford is the extreme case — three days in the whole year.

How these were checked

About ninety New Jersey listings were read on each farm’s own website on 16 Oct 2026, and fifteen more farms were read again on 30 October from their own sites and Facebook pages. Every card carries the date it was last read. A 2026 date appears only where the farm itself has posted it, and every one was checked against the 2026 calendar: Thanksgiving is Thursday 26 November this year, so a farm still advertising “Friday, November 28” is showing last season. Where a farm’s own pages disagree with each other, the card says so.

The growers’ association directory and the news roundups were used only to find farms, never for a date or a price — several of the web addresses they give now belong to someone else. Spot something that has gone stale? Say so and it gets fixed.
