What’s the best pumpkin patch in Dallas?

It depends what you want. For a real farm with animals and a hayride, Blase Family Farm in Rockwall is $12 and books by time slot. For a corn maze, Hall’s Pumpkin Farm in Grapevine is the classic, open after dark too. For small children, Fritz Park in Irving is $6 with a petting zoo. For the biggest display, Autumn at the Arboretum has more than 100,000 pumpkins. And for free, try Pumpkins on the Prairie in Frisco.

Is the Dallas Arboretum a pumpkin patch?

Not a pick-your-own one. Autumn at the Arboretum is a display of more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash with a Pumpkin Village, beside White Rock Lake, from 19 September to 1 November. Tickets are $21.95–25.95 for adults, and pumpkins are sold in the gift shop.

Is there a free pumpkin patch in Dallas?

Yes, fourteen this year. In Dallas, NorthPark Center and St. James Episcopal in Lake Highlands. Around it, Pumpkins on the Prairie in Frisco, Rejoice Lutheran in Coppell, Central Arlington’s Pumpkin Patch and Reeves Family Farm in Princeton, a real farm that opens free on October Fridays and Saturdays. Christ United Methodist in Plano and Arapaho United Methodist in Richardson don’t list any entry fee either, and The Woods in Grand Prairie is free, and so are Landscape Source in Rockwall and Ennis Autumn Daze, and McKinney Pumpkins at First Christian Church from 6 October, Creekwood in Allen and Murphy Church. Where are the pumpkin farms in North Texas?

Around Dallas they’re mostly out towards Rockwall, McKinney and Gunter to the north and east. Blase in Rockwall, Sunset Trail Farm in McKinney and Reeves Family Farm in Princeton (free entry) are confirmed; the others are in the box above. Can I bring my dog?

Yes at Preston Trail Farms in Gunter, Yesterland in Canton and Ennis Autumn Daze, on a leash. Blase, Hall’s, Fritz Park and Pumpkin Nights don’t allow pets, and the Arboretum allows licensed service animals only. The free church patches, Reeves and Sunset Trail don’t say, so ask first.
